Important emergency supplies for the school should include classroom lockdown kits. In case of an emergency in the area or an intruder on campus, it could take time for parents to arrive on site to pick children up. A well stocked supplies as outlined by the Red Cross for emergencies should be considered when developing your own kit.

An important part of any disaster survival kit would include methods and equipment to evacuate the injured or disabled. An emergency evacuation chair can be used to transport the injured easily and safely down stairwells. These chairs should be located throughout the building at emergency exits.

Catoma tents has been making great tents for the military and forest service for years and have now offered these great tents to the public. The forest service tents are made for smoke jumpers and offer great features such as fire resistant roofs. This is not the general consumer camping gear but made to high mil specs. These backpacking tents also set up in seconds with the Catoma patented easy up feature.

It’s small, lightweight and very portable. This simple filter is a great backup to your regular backpaking water filter and should be a part of your emergency camping gear. This straw filter will filter down to ghirdia levels and handle up to 20 gallons. Never leave home without this Aquamira filter.

We all have our favorite pieces of camping gear, a good tent, sleeping bag and stove, but one of the best parts about camping is good food. Cache Lake Camping food is not your typical backpacking food. Besides being easy to prepare, it’s taste is fantastic. Additionally, there are dishes that are not typical of most camping foods. My favorite is the frying pan breads. Take some on your next trip and you won’t be disappointed. Some good nutrition to help carry that camping equipment.

The warm weather has reminded me of how fun it is to cool off in a lake or river when camping. As part of my camping gear, I like to take an inflatable kayak along. It doesn’t take up much room and boy is it fun and relaxing. Now that the snows are melting, there’s great fun in the streams. The Stearns Kayak is a great value.
